Bio
I attended Art Center in LA where I also spent many days at Malibu. Summer vacations included trips to Steamer Lane and Pleasure Point in Santa Cruz. My style ranges from tonalist to impressionist. Always striving to capture the human struggle with sea, as well as the love we have for it. Some have described my work as “those dark surf paintings”. That may reflect the influence of painters like Albert Ryder and Winslow Homer. There are many spiritual references to water as well. Hawaiian waters have a totally different emotion– with their brilliant light and aqua tones. I live in Seattle and have a background in advertising design. My wife and I take the occasional surf/paint safari with the 21 foot “Tintiki” an Airstream mobile surf unit.
